Supplier Code of Conduct Policy

Support Vehicles Australia (SVA) acknowledges that suppliers are an integral part of our business and we seek to treat them fairly and act with integrity.  This Supplier Code of Conduct document sets out our expectations of suppliers and their supply chain and we expect all, including their subsidiaries and their supply chain in this same manner.  

Our business expectations of suppliers include:

  • ensure their businesses are legitimate and ethical and uphold SVA’s Values and adhere to our Code of Conduct Policy and Respect @Work Policy.  

  • comply with our Procurement Policy

  • promote the highest standards of professionalism and comply with our Quality Policy

Health and Safety

As per SVA’s Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, we are committed to protecting the health and safety of all individuals affected by our activities and expect suppliers to:

  • comply with all relevant legislation, approvals and permits applicable to the work and shall conduct its activities in a manner consistent with SVA’s policies, procedures and conduct.

  • comply with our Work Health, Safety and Wellness Policy which states we must provide a safe and healthy work environment which promotes the prevention and elimination of work related injury and illnesses.

  • where applicable, provide training, resources, equipment and access to safe and hygienic facilities.

Environmental and Sustainability  

At SVA we have an understanding of the global impact of climate change and promote Environmental protection and stewardship, pollution prevention, biodiversity, resource and energy conservation and a sustainable environment, documented in our Environmental and Sustainability Policy and expect our suppliers to:

  • comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements relating to the environment

  • promote a culture that reduces environmental impact using socially responsible in environmental practices including recycling and controlling emissions, managing and limiting waste outputs, conserving energy etc

  • respect the cultural heritage, customs and traditions of the indigenous people wherever possible.

Human Rights and Ethics

SVA is committed to treating people with dignity and respect and expect the same of our suppliers.  We reject all forms of slavery, anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices and expect suppliers to be aware of their obligations.  We expect our suppliers to:

  • adhere to our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy and be free of exploitation and human rights abuse and we will monitor our suppliers to identify, prevent and mitigate human rights impacts.

  • ensure our products not to contribute to human suffering and do not tolerate human rights abuses, human trafficking and /or slavery. 

  • understand and implement ways their company can combat modern slavery and where possible have policies, procedures and training in place to identify, investigate and mitigate risks along their supply chain.

Inclusion, Engagement and Diversity

SVA recognises the advantages that accrue from an engaged, diverse workforce fostering a work environment that is inclusive, respectful, and free from discrimination and expects our suppliers to:

  • ensure fair working conditions and fair remuneration is provided.

  • provide a workplace that values diversity and that everyone has the right to be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness, regardless of their background or personal characteristics.

  • provide a work environment where all are treated with dignity, in a fair and honest manner, free of harassment, bullying, hostility, discrimination or offensive behaviour.

  • where applicable, have policies and procedures in place which promote the avoidance of unfair or illegal discrimination based on race, nationality, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, ancestry, ethnicity, social origin or political beliefs.

We expect suppliers to maintain a speak up culture allowing any grievances, misconduct, ethical issues and breaches to be reported and addressed without retaliation and in an open, honest and transparent manner. Our Grievance Handling Policy and Whistleblower Policy promote the importance of protecting all our human, financial, physical, information, social, environmental and reputational assets.
